Blog Hopping With "THE GREETING FARM"

Hi everyone, Tash here and welcome to Two Scrappy Ladies.  Today I am joining The Greeting Farm's 3rd Annual Customer Blog Hop, Yipeeee!!!

To join the blog hop we had to create either a Holiday or Non-Holiday themed project.  For this blog hop I have chosen a Non-Holiday themed project by introducing you to a fabulous little Birthday gift project that I have been working on for my 13 year old niece, Larissa.  Since she just turned 13 and we know how much little Misses love to record all facets of their life at this age I decided to create a junk journal for her.  Larissa LOVES 'The Greeting Farm' stamps, in particular the 'Creeper Crew' so I have incorporated all sorts of Greeting Farm characters into this journal on to journalling tags.  I have left the tags very plain so that she can colour in the images (which she loves doing) and add her own artistic flair.  Anyway, I think it is perfect for a teen Miss, but I will let you decide.

I used a thick chipboard as the front and back covers which I covered with layered papers which I sewed together before gluing it to the chipboard.  The inside pages are a mixture of blank white pages, stripped white pages and designer papers as I wanted to leave room for her to illustrate and journal as well as leaving room for photo's.  I also tried to incorporate different mediums including acetate sheets and a felt page which was perfect for some stick pins.

Little booklets and post it notes add a fun yet practical elements to the book.

As you can see, there are lots of tags used throughout the pages which can be moved around as she likes and a acetate sheet with a 'creeper crew' character provide the perfect base for a dress me up sticker set.

I also included other stickers where I could which she can use to further express her emotions throughout.  I thought there were fun and would provide examples as to the sort of things she can add.

And of course, no book of her's would be complete without the token "Edward" images...heeheeheee, so I made sure to include a few of him also.

Well bloggers, that's it for my project I hope you enjoyed it.  If you get lost be sure to head back to the TGF blog by clicking here, however you can go directly to Thahn's page here.  Don't forget that there are prizes up for grabs which include two Grand Prizes for participant's creations and also a random hopper will ALSO win the ENTIRE upcoming January Release!! The only way to win is to participate in the hop so if you are only starting here go to the TGF blog and get hop, hop, hopping!!

In the meantime, thanks for stopping by and checking out my latest project.  May you all have a fabulous Christmas/Holiday season  full of family, joy and peace.

Until next time, happy stamping/scrapping.

Who Said Minimalism Is Easy??

Hi everyone Tash here.  Today I finally had a chance to finish a Christmas Mini I have been working on during the past week.  I hope to have photo's or a you tube video on that soon but for the moment, I would like to share a card I created as part of Crazy 4 Challenges' new weekly challenge.  This week called for 'one layer' cards.  I must admit that this technique is rather alien to me.  For those of you who are familiar with regular work on my other blog Tamali Creations, you would realised that this was an ask and a half!!    Well the DT creations for this one where all clean, fresh, simplistic looking designs that screamed 'zen' to me and I thought I would give it a try.  So....here is my card:

Not really something to write home about huh??  I must say that I am rather underwhelmed by this card and I really really struggled to get that real elegant result that the very talented design team members get.  What can I say, you win some, you lose some....but it definitely needs practice!!

Anyway I am off to begin an intense 13 week business management course tomorrow and will try to keep posting some crafty projects during that time.  Until then, happy scrapping.

Hugs,

So Fairy Cute!!

Hi everyone, its Tash again.  I am back today with a cute fairy card.  I bought this image about 1 month ago, but have not yet had a chance to use it.  Isn't she just adorable??  The image is called 'Clarabell' an she is from Kraftin Kimmie.  This card is being entered into two challenges today.  The first is a sketch challenge for All That Scraps and the second is for Flutterby Wednesday which is having an 'open' challenge so long as it incorporates either an Angel, Fairy or Butterfly.

For this card I have used the following:

Cardstock: for most of my cardstock I use card which I purchase from my office supply store in various colours.  For this particular card I have also used cardstock from DCWV's Brights and Neutral Stacks.
Stamps: 'Clarabelle' Kraftin Kimmie, sentiment is from the same stamp set
Ink: Memento Ink (Tsukineko) in 'Rich Cocoa', Ranger Distress Ink in 'Vintage Photo'
Paper: This is actually a scrap from my stash but I think it is from My Minds Eye
Copics: E50, E51, E53, E31, E33, E35, E37, R22, R02, R27, BG10, BG01,
Y02, Y08, YR00, YR02, YR04
Pearls: Kaisercraft
Ribbon: Received in a R.A.K from my dear friend Julie.  Can be purchased through her Etsy store

Well that is it for me for another day so until next time, happy scrapping and thanks for stopping by.

Crazy 4 Challenges C4C109

Hi Tash here and I am back again with another card for yet another challenge.  Today the challenge is for Crazy 4 Challenges.  This weeks challenge was to create a holiday card using a heat embossing technique.  So...onto my card:

Its a simple card, but effective I think.  I recently purchased my first lot of Distress Embossing Powder which I have been dying to try so this card gave me the perfect opportunity.  Other materials used are as follows:

Papers: Fancy Pants Christmas Range 2010
Cardstock: Buff card from office supply store
Image: Darkroom Door
Sentiment Tickets: Etsy seller Seneca Pond Crafts
Inks: Versamark, Distress Ink (vintage photo), memento ink (rich cocoa)
Pearls: Kaisercraft (coffee)
Glitter: Kindy Glitz (Aztec Gold)
Flowers: are my own and made from felt
Lace: from my stash

I have several other projects that I am working on at present so I will be back soon to share some of these with you.  Until then happy scrapping and thanks for stopping by.

Farm Fresh Sketch Challenge

Hi Tash here...I wanted to share with you a card I created for Farm Fresh Friday at The Greeting Farm.  Its been a little while since I entered a card challenge as I have had several things in the pipe works, but I am back and thought I would start with one of my favourites.  This weeks challenge is a spy challenge (case a card) and here is my interpretation;

For this card I have used one of the Miss Anya Collection stamps from The Greeting Farm.  The image has been coloured using Copic Markers E50, E51, E53, E31, E33, E35, E37, RV000, RV002, YG00, YG02, G21, Y11 and R04. The paper is from a digital collection "Country Chic Red Yellow Gingham" which I purchased from Etsy seller mybabygiggles.  I dry embossed the paper before sanding the top surface and distressing using "Vintage Photo" ranger distress ink.   The border and leaf die is by Magnolia and the Scallop Circle and Label are X-Cut Nesties.  The ribbon and flowers are from my stash.  The two pearls are from Kaisercraft and the whole card has been glittered up using Kindy Glitz in "aztec gold".  The sentiment is from Darkroom Door.  Since it has been a while since I made a card I was quite pleased with the way it turned out.  I hope you like it.

I hope to be back soon with some more creations to share with you all however, until then, happy scrapping.

Hugs,

Tash Daly
